Among one of the most used Photoshop patterns and textures are the ones related to paper. For example many people use lined paper and notebook pattern and textures as well as stripe patterns in their designs. In this time of year there some resources are more popular than other, so I try to keep up bringing you lots of fresh and new Photoshop resources. For example in this list I have gathered glitter styles and patterns that you can download for free; simply download the files and upload them in Photoshop as ASL/PAT files. You will see that there are lots of glitter sparkle patterns but not all of them are seamless; but nonetheless they can be used in many ways. You can also check our glitter textures collection.

The grunge style has always been very popular among digital artist and graphic designers. So it's really useful to have a collection of grunge textures and patterns that we can use in our digital works. For example you can use grunge texture to make a background look more interesting adding a industrial look. Or we can use the grunge patterns to create text effects or web elements like menus, buttons and so on.

While I was working on one of my tutorials I realized that I need a Roof Texture for a house roof. Because my image was made in a cartoon style and because I needed a Roof Pattern (meaning a seamless roof pattern) I decided to make it from scratch.

This roof texture was made using vector roof tiles put together to form a pattern. To make it look more realistic I added a grunge texture. Hope you find it useful, it will sure ease your work!

I've posted many free Photoshop resources for this time of year. Here is another set of Christmas patterns perfect for creating package designs, Christmas backgrounds, text effects and many more. They are all seamless patterns so you can use them for any image size. You can also resize them but they always look good in their original size.

I use stripe patterns all the time and I have a really big collection of Photoshop stripes in different sizes and colors. Vertical or horizontal stripes are really easy to make in Photoshop. That is way this set contains only oblique stripes that are harder to make. Hope you put them in good use!

As many of you already know, the PAT file is a set of patterns hat can be loaded in Photoshop. From my point of view the term of pattern is applied only to seamless patterns. Some people provide patterns that are not seamless, but those are simple images that can not be used to create repetitive backgrounds.

We all know that a seamless pattern made out of a texture can be very difficult to make. I have downloaded, so many times, patterns that were not seamless and looked really weird. So I advise you to take a closer look at the preview image so that you make sure you like the result. Otherwise you'll only waste your time.

For today's list I have gathered, a huge collection of Photoshop gradients from the deviantArt community. This list is so big that I have to break it in two parts. You will see lots of Photoshop gradient themes like autumn gradient, sky gradient, metal gradient and many more. I think this list is an extremely useful resource for all the Photoshop users. These gradients are free for download, but it is always better to read the terms of use.
